Living Our Purpose: Midrex Volunteers Team Up with Habitat for Humanity
July 23, 2024
On Friday, July 19th, a dedicated crew of six Midrex teammates fully embraced our Midrex Gives Back initiative by giving back to the community where we live and work. Our teammates were able to utilize some of their paid volunteer time, teaming up with Habitat for Humanity on a new build project located less than two miles from our office in Charlotte, NC.
Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit organization that helps families build and improve places to call home. Volunteers can support their cause through building and repairing homes, working at their local Habitat ReStore, and donating through their portal online.
The Midrex volunteer team included our teammates, Dan Abt, Chris Pillars, Andrew Parker, James Jacobs, Bradford Knight, and Eric Weisenhorn. Together, they spent six hours at the construction site, braving the rain to contribute to this meaningful cause.
The team’s efforts focused on finishing interior framing, exterior sheathing on the first floor, and laying the second floor of the new home. It was a day filled with hammering, cutting, and lifting, demanding hard work and teamwork.
Our Midrex teammates, along with nine other volunteers, were guided by the skilled Habitat for Humanity personnel, ensuring their efforts led to a productive outcome. By the end of the day, everyone agreed it was a rewarding experience, both personally and collectively, knowing their contributions would make a significant impact on a family’s life.
We are grateful to our teammates for taking the initiative to embody our purpose and put people first. Their dedication not only strengthened bonds among teammates but also made a significant contribution to a meaningful cause.
