Living Our Purpose: Midrex Partners with TreesCharlotte for a Tree Planting Event

On October 18th, Midrex teammates had the pleasure of participating in a rewarding TreeDay planting event at SIM USA, partnering with TreesCharlotte. Our mission to give back to the community and support environmental stewardship was brought to life as we planted 33 dogwood trees, contributing to the enhancement of Charlotte’s urban forest.
The day began with energizing opening remarks that set the tone for our community engagement. Participants were introduced to the mission of TreesCharlotte and the significance of urban forestry. After a brief training session on proper tree planting techniques, our volunteers were ready to get their hands dirty!
Divided into small groups, our teammates teamed up with TreeMasters—experienced volunteers from TreesCharlotte who guided us through the planting process. Working together, we dug holes, carefully placed the young trees, and ensured they were well-positioned for growth. The camaraderie and spirit of teamwork were palpable as laughter and conversation filled the air.
In addition to the physical work, the event provided a wonderful opportunity for teammates to connect with one another in a meaningful way. Sharing stories over coffee and donuts while surrounded by the beauty of nature created lasting memories. Many volunteers also took the opportunity to don their “Midrex Gives Back” shirts, proudly representing our commitment to community service.
As we wrapped up the day, we couldn’t help but feel a sense of accomplishment. Knowing that we played a role in enriching Charlotte’s environment is both fulfilling and inspiring. The trees we planted will not only beautify the area but will also contribute to cleaner air and a healthier ecosystem for years to come.
