Living Our Purpose: Midrex HQ Hosts Heartwarming Make-A-Wish Wish Granting Party

Our team at our headquarters in Charlotte, NC recently had the honor of hosting a heartwarming Make-A-Wish wish-granting party, an event that not only highlighted our Midrex Gives Back initiative but also showcased our commitment to community and our Core Values. The day was a success, filled with joy, smiles, and an outpouring of support from our dedicated team.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation is a renowned non-profit organization dedicated to granting the wishes of children diagnosed with critical illnesses. Since its inception in 1980, the foundation has granted thousands of wishes, bringing hope, strength, and joy to children and their families during challenging times. Each wish granted marks a special moment of happiness and creates lasting memories, significantly impacting the well-being of the children and their families.
At Midrex, we believe in the power of giving back. Our Midrex Gives Back initiative is a testament to our commitment to making a difference in the communities where we live and work. We understand that our Core Values extend beyond the workplace, driving us to engage in meaningful activities that support and uplift those around us. The preparations for the Make-A-Wish party began the day before the event. While fighting his critical illness, JJ, the child whose wish we granted, found joy in playing games on the Nintendo Switch and knew that he wanted to visit SUPER NINTENDO WORLD. Our team of volunteers worked to bring SUPER NINTENDO WORLD to life in Charlotte to celebrate the fun that was to come for JJ. From decorating the venue with vibrant colors and uplifting messages to arranging Mario-themed entertainment and refreshments, the Midrex family came together with a shared goal: to create a magical experience for JJ and his family.
The day of the event was nothing short of magical. The atmosphere at the Midrex HQ was filled with anticipation and excitement as we welcomed JJ and his family. The event flowed seamlessly, with plenty of rounds of Mario Kart on the Nintendo Switch, exciting games of Uno, coloring pages, cupcakes, and a piñata. Yoshi and Princess Peach stopped by to celebrate with JJ as well, making it a fun and memorable day for everyone.
One of the cornerstones of our culture at Midrex is the availability of paid time-off to volunteer. We recognize the importance of giving our employees the time and opportunity to participate in community service activities. Our teammates are encouraged to use their volunteer hours to engage in events like the Make-A-Wish party, reinforcing the importance of giving back.
